“I applied for an ATEP apprenticeship in June 2010 and I have since commenced a plumbing apprenticeship. As I am 34 years old, I was expecting to find it difficult to get an apprenticeship; however after an interview with ATEP where I explained what I was after in a job, it only took them two weeks to find me a host employer who was willing to take on someone of my age. I am currently doing my 2nd year and I’m really enjoying it. ATEP has been fantastic and their support is great. The host employer they found for me has been terrific. As an apprentice I am very happy with ATEP and would definitely recommend them to anyone wishing to undergo an apprenticeship.”
“The ATEP staff are so friendly and have supported me the whole way through”.
Andrew J., Moorooduc, 34 years of age.
“I have been employed by ATEP since 2010 and am completing a Tourism and Guiding school based traineeship as part of my VCE school studies. Before finishing my first 12 months I had successfully completed a Certificate II nationally recognized qualification and am now well on my way to completing the Certificate III level in line with my Year 12 school year. The part time job opportunity was exactly what I was looking for and I now have part-time work with two of the businesses next year and a real understanding of what the tourism industry could offer me towards a further career path when I complete my schooling in late 2011.

“In January 2008 I started a Carpentry apprenticeship with ATEP and my allocated Host Employer and am now in my fourth and final year. I am loving the experience and keep learning new things every day. ATEP provide heaps of support and having my work placement officer regularly come out on site helps meet any needs I may have as an employee.
“I am rapt to be an ATEP apprentice and impatient to be a qualified Carpenter in a few months and one day run my own empire!”
Tom H., Hampton VIC, 22 years of age.
